Political Gossip with Friends

We’re bringing Nonprofits Vote back, refreshed, reenergized, and ready to strengthen Alberta’s collective nonprofit voice in the months leading up to municipal elections.

Our relaunch is about more than a new look. It is about reactivating a year-round space where nonprofits can share priorities, connect ideas, and make sure leaders hear what matters most to our communities. Campaign seasons will always be important moments, but our mission is to ensure the sector’s voice is strong, visible, and connected every month of the year.

To kick things off, we’re pairing the relaunch with a timely panel on the introduction of party politics to municipal elections. This conversation will unpack what’s changing for 2025 ballots, what it means for advocacy at the local level, and how nonprofits can be prepared, informed, and influential without ever taking sides. Our panel brings a range of political experience and knowledge to help us understand this shift – our moderator Courtney Theriault will be joined by panelists Amanda Jensen, Matt Solberg, Lisa Young, and Philippe Fournier.

Start your day off right and join us for Political Gossip with Friends – part insider scoop, part policy briefing, and part fun morning out. You’ll get:

  • A fresh understanding of what the shift toward party politics could mean for nonprofits

  • Practical takeaways to help your organization be “Ballot Boss” ready before October 20

  • A first look at Nonprofits Vote’s new identity and tools

  • Activities (yes, games) to spark ideas and surface what matters most to you this election

Good politics deserves good company and maybe a little tea spilling. We’d love for you to be part of this next chapter for Alberta’s collective nonprofit voice, highlighting how nonprofit organizations can be impactful, informed, and (dare we say) fabulously nonpartisan all at once.
