More Than a Membership. A Community Built for Alberta's Nonprofit Sector.
The nonprofit sector has never been more important—or more complex.
Organizations across Alberta are navigating rising demand, workforce shortages, evolving legislation, increasing expectations, and tighter budgets, all while continuing to deliver the programs and services our communities rely on every day.
No organization should have to navigate those challenges alone.
That's why we're so excited to launch our new-and-improved Membership.
This isn't simply a re-brand or re-packaging. It's a new way of connecting Alberta's nonprofit community — bringing together the people, information, advocacy, and practical tools organizations need to succeed.
As our new President & CEO, Angie Gélinas, puts it:
"I've learned a lot in my first year with the Nonprofit Chamber. Perhaps the most important insight: a strong nonprofit sector is not built by a handful of leaders talking to one another at a conference once a year or at an exclusive table. It is built when everyone on a team, from front-line staff to board members, and leaders across organizations and subsectors, has access to the people, knowledge, and resources they need, and a real opportunity to contribute. That is the community we are building."
Built Around How Nonprofits Actually Work
One of the biggest changes to our membership is that it's no longer designed around a single contact person.
Our new organizational memberships are team-based, making it easy for staff across your organization — from Executive Directors and HR professionals to fundraisers, communications staff, program managers, board members, and emerging leaders — to access the benefits that matter to them. Individuals and organizations can pick the account type that works best for them (Nonprofit Org, Personal, or Corporate & Consultant), and select a tier that works for their team’s size - most accounts will be about $25-$50 per person per year.
Because stronger organizations aren't built by one person. They're built by connected teams.
A Community You Can Access Every Day
Membership now includes access to our new online Membership Hub, where members can connect year-round, not just at events.
Inside the Hub you'll find:
Peer networks for large-scale networking and specialized groups (like HR folks, for example)
Online discussion spaces where members can ask questions and share ideas across industries and cities
Practical resources and member-exclusive content
Sometimes the most valuable resource isn't another document — it's another nonprofit leader who's already solved the problem you're facing.
Practical Savings That Add Up
We know every nonprofit dollar matters.
That's why membership includes discounts on the tools and services organizations already use, including:
Discounts on Reach Hire job postings, plus one complimentary advanced posting each year
Member pricing on workshops, conferences, and professional development programs and events
Significant savings on the Boland Survey Report, Alberta's premier nonprofit compensation and salary benchmarking resource. Plus - there are deeper discounts if your organization participates in the survey (open now, until October 1, 2026).
Discounts from partners like ATB & Greenshield, and BFL Insurance.
Many organizations will recover the cost of membership through these savings alone. See more.
Stay Ahead of What's Changing
Government policy moves quickly. Funding landscapes evolve.Employment standards change.
Our members receive timely updates through our bi-weekly newsletter, policy briefings, research, and analysis that helps nonprofit leaders understand not only what is changing—but what it means for their organizations.
Strengthen the Sector's Voice
The Nonprofit Chamber exists to advocate for Alberta's nonprofit sector.
Membership means supporting work that builds relationships with all levels of government, develops evidence-based policy recommendations, and ensures nonprofit perspectives are represented in conversations that affect our communities.
Every new member strengthens that voice.
More Than Membership. Momentum.
Our vision isn't simply to grow membership: It's to build the strongest, most connected nonprofit community Alberta has ever had. One where organizations learn from one another. Where leaders don't have to reinvent solutions. Where data informs better decisions. Where advocacy is grounded in the real experiences of nonprofits across the province. And where every nonprofit professional — regardless of role or organization size — has access to the knowledge, relationships, and opportunities they need to make an even greater impact.
That's the future we're building together.
